Creative and Communications Manager

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: Commensurate with Experience
Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking a uniquely qualified Creative and Communications Manager to join our small, tight knit team determined to make a positive and inspiring impact.

Responsibilities
-Working closely with the APJ team to conceptualize and implement strategic communications to further APJ’s mission and identity
-Maintaining and strengthening the APJ brand through compelling and informative materials across a range of media types (video, books, photography, etc.)
-Creating ongoing short films, online stories, and creative strategies for campaigns, events and other projects
-Execution of social media plans across all platforms
-Direct creation of materials and supervision of contractors when necessary to ensure projects remain on track and are completed on schedule
-Liaising with outside creative and vendors to ensure timely production of materials where necessary

Requirements
-2 to 4 years experience in a role with similar requirements
-A strong eye and vision for high quality compelling stories, images, and graphic design
-Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills
-A proactive, optimistic outlook with strong work ethic
-The ability to manage many simultaneous complex and fast-moving projects
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
-Strong knowledge of advanced video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, etc.)
-Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Illustrator)

Operations Intern

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: School credit, stipend
Dates: January 9, 2017 – Mid May (flexible)
Commitment: 20 hours per week (approximately)

APJ seeks an Operations Intern to assist with a range of day-to-day office duties and other projects in our New York office. The intern will lend support to all members of the APJ team and report directly to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and responsible individual with a passion for APJ’s work looking to gain experience in the field through the handling of various tasks associated with the operations of a small nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities
-Monitor office phones, deliveries, and email
-Assist with social media outreach and monitoring
-Conduct ongoing research projects
-Compile data and maintain various organizational databases
-Work with APJ staff in a support capacity to address other needs and projects as they arise

Requirements
-Passionate about international development and the goals of Artists for Peace and Justice
-Current college student or recent graduate (must be located in the NYC metro area)
-Extremely organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow through
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office with high level of general computer competency
-Familiarity with major social media platforms

Social Media Intern

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: School credit, stipend
Dates: January 9, 2017 – Mid May (flexible)

APJ seeks a Social Media Intern to generate dynamic content to inspire and activate APJ supporters online and to help manage the organization’s online presence. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, digitally savvy, and passionate about social media’s potential to enact change. A self-starter, do-gooder, and expert communicator, this internship will be an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on digital marketing, content strategy, and social analytics experience.

Responsibilities
-Monitor and maintain APJ’s social network accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, Vimeo and Youtube)
-Produce content for the APJ blog, website, and affiliate organizations
-Research latest social media strategies and trends
-Organize, analyze and offer new ideas for APJ fundraising campaigns
-Develop proposals for social media campaigns
-Monitor analytics for all social media accounts and websites

Requirements
-Passionate about social good and the goals of Artists for Peace and Justice
-Current college student or recent graduate (must be located in the NYC metro area)
-Previous experience managing professional social media accounts (preferred)
-Some knowledge of social media marketing strategies
-Ability to work seamlessly across social media platforms
-Extremely organized and detail oriented, with impeccable follow through
-Demonstrated ability to be an expert checker of facts and quality
-Strong written and oral communication skills
